Hydrafacial FAQs

1. Is Hydrafacial right for me?

Suitable for all skin tones and types, most people can benefit from a Hydrafacial.

The treatment is not recommended for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, are undergoing cancer treatment, have an active cold sore, certain allergies or are on medication such as blood thinners or Roaccutane.

A consultation with the Oatlands team will determine if it’s right for you and reveal how we can personalise treatment to your individual needs.

2. What does a Hydrafacial involve?

Hydrafacial is a Multi-step system that takes up to one hour (depending on treatment chosen) and uses unique vortex fusion technology to:

  • Cleanse & Peel: Deeply cleanse and exfoliate with a gentle peel to uncover a new layer of skin.
  • Extract & Hydrate: Removes impurities from pores with painless, gentle suction
  • Fuse & Protect: Saturates the skin’s surface with intense moisturisers and nourishing, personalised ingredients.

You can also add on:

  • LED Therapy: Improve mild to moderate wrinkles, acne, redness and inflammation whilst supporting recovery post-procedure.
  • Lymphatic Therapy: Improve circulation of the lymph system and eliminate toxins to reduce puffiness.
  • Perk Lip: Lightly plump and hydrate lips.
  • Perk Eye: to hydrate and brighten around the eyes.
  • Boosters: Target your individual concerns – choose from medical-grade solutions for brightening, calming, hydrating, and firming for the most personalised and effective treatment.

3. Is Hydrafacial suitable for acne-prone teenage skin?

Thanks to its deep cleansing and extraction abilities, Hydrafacial is a fantastic option for those suffering from frequent acne, blackheads, whiteheads and large pores.

The 30-minute express option once a month will help reduce breakouts, leaving you with clearer and more refreshed-looking skin.

4. Is Hydrafacial uncomfortable

No.

The treatment feels like a mini vacuum on your face, and certain ingredients may make your skin tingly, but it is not considered painful.

5. What results can I expect and how many treatments are needed?

Immediately after your first Hydrafacial, you can expect your skin to look refreshed and radiant.

To see an improvement in skin concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, hydration, acne, pigmentation, skin strength and overall skin quality, a course of six treatments (one a month) is recommended.

Regular Hydrafacials are advised if you wish to see an ongoing improvement in your skin health.

6. Are there any side effects?

You may experience some slight redness immediately after a Hydrafacial, but this will soon settle.

You can go back to your usual activities and apply mineral-based make-up straightaway.

7. Can I have other treatment alongside a Hydrafacial?

Yes, we will often recommend a combination treatment approach to address all your skin and ageing concerns.

Laser Genesis is a fantastic treatment that can be incorporated into the Hydrafacial experience and can help reduce acne, scarring, pigmentation and redness, whilst boosting collagen all at the same time.

Injectable options such as anti-wrinkle procedures, dermal fillers, Skinboosters and Profhilo can also be beneficial, while IPL and microneedling are other options that can be explored.
